Three things will last forever
Faith, Hope and Love
and the greatest of these is
LOVE.
Corinthians 13:13
Registered Nurse Janel Hollister cared for people. As the JPS Pediatric Clinic Coordinator, she surrounded herself with children of all ages. Janel had a contagious smile that always brightened the room and made people feel at ease. Ever gracious, Janel was a strong, bright woman full of life, dedicated to helping others.
A 28 year survivor of Hodgkin's Disease, she never thought she would once again be fighting for her life. At her yearly mammogram a lump was found and she was diagnosed with Stage 3A breast cancer. Her initial shock and fear were quickly overcome by her drive to beat cancer once again. Her strength came from her families never ending support, along with a strong Faith in Jesus Christ.
Unable to work full time while she was undergoing chemo, Janel stepped in as a volunteer at The Center for Cancer. Even though she was fighting her own battle, she religiously maintained her visits to the patients of The Center, giving them Hope and Faith.
In 2012 Janel walked out of our world and into Heaven, holding the hand of our Lord and Savior, renewed and cancer free.
She left us with a mission to start a non-profit organization in her name, to continue to help cancer patients as well as cancer survivors. In life it was an honor to call her a friend, and sister in Jesus Christ, and now it is our honor to move ahead with her request.
With your help we can fight this disease and help find a cure for all cancers!
